Dhwani Academy, The Irvine Barclay Theater and The Worah Family Foundation are excited to announce the launch of a brand new concert series “Next Wave Series” dedicated to showcasing the talent and passion of emerging Musicians.
This platform will provide upcoming artists with the opportunity to share their unique skills and connect with a wider audience. The performances will be held in the intimate and acoustically beautiful Winnifred Smith Hall on the UC Irvine campus.

Pandit Sanjeev Abhyankar, a renowned artist of the Mewati Gharana, Pandit Sanjeev Abhyankar is celebrated for his mastery in Hindustani Classical Music. Starting his musical journey at an early age, he has gained global recognition for his soulful renditions and has received numerous accolades. He continues to inspire as a performer, composer, and guru.
Sanjay Deshpande
Sanjay Deshpande, Sanjay Deshpande, a talented Tabla player from Pune, India, learned from legendary maestros including Pt. Suresh Talwalkar, Ustad Alla Rakha Khan, and Pt. Yogesh Samsi. He has accompanied renowned artists and performed at prestigious festivals. As an respected teacher, he teaches at Pune’s Lalit Kala Kendra and Bharati Vidyapeeth.
Abhishek Shinkar
Abhishek Shinkar, a skilled harmonium and vocal artist started his music journey early, trained under renowned mentors. Abhishek has accompanied prominent artists in prestigious concerts and performed solo at venues like NCPA Mumbai and Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Pune. He holds a Master’s in harmonium, has earned several awards, and is recognized for his contributions to music
Sanchitha and Saadhvi Chari
The Chari Sisters, trained in music for over 15 years under the guidance of Sri Abhishek Raghuram and Sri Kunnakudi Balamuralikrishna, have performed at the Chennai Music Season and across the U.S., winning several awards. They are also accomplished Bharatanatyam dancers.
Gopal Ravindhran
Gopal Ravindhran began learning Mridangam at age 6 from Shri Ravindra Bharathy Sridharan and currently studies with Vidwan Shri Neyveli R. Narayanan. He has accompanied renowned artists and performed at prestigious venues like the Chennai Marghazhi Music festival and Madras Music Academy since 2018.
Nikhita Kaushik
Nikhita Kaushik began her music journey learning vocal under esteemed Gurus. She has performed solo and accompanied concerts in Southern California and India, winning awards in national and international competitions. Currently a sophomore at UC Irvine, Nikhita studies Cognitive Sciences.
