Rules and Regulations
Dhwani Academy is fast growing with classes running on schedule in Irvine, San Diego, Rancho Cucamonga and Anaheim. The Academy needs to enforce certain Rules & Codes of Conduct for smooth administrative and disciplinary purpose.
FEES
Group Class: $120 per month (4 classes a month)
Private Class by Pt. Abhijit Banerjee: both online and in person $120 per month (2 classes a month)
NOTE: Classes will depend on the standard of the student and eligibility will be determined by the Instructor.
The fees are payable at the beginning of the month (latest by the 10th day). Please consult the Fees-structure of the Academy when you join. Fees are accepted on monthly basis, not per class generally. Setting and finalizing student-groups remains the sole discretion of the instructors.
Groups are set up generally according to the standard of the Students and divided into Preliminary, Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced. At any time any student is allowed to attend a different group-class to get a feel of it by paying $ 10.
Registration Fee: $ 25
NOTE: For new students or students who are re-enrolling– Fees are subject to being changed according to the distance or total number of students without prior notice. For details, please consult the respective Instructor concerned.
Absences: The teachers and members of the Faculty understand that many of the children do attend other activities and may not be able to attend classes on scheduled times. In such cases, it is the problem of the child or parent to make arrangements to attend other classes that may be offered. The class-fees are payable regardless of whether the student attends it or not. Occasionally, our teachers have commitments for performances which may result in cancellation of some of the classes. In such cases, your teacher will re-schedule the class and inform you of the cancellation, either via phone or e-mail, at least two days in advance. For this reason, it is very important to check your voice-mail or e-mail a day before coming to class. The students are also advised to do the same in case of their absence. The teacher is usually able to adjust one or two classes but any more absence need to be discussed with the teacher. Absence for an extended period or absence without notification will result in discontinuation of Studentship and a re-admission charge may be applied for the student to re-join the class.
Parent’s Participation: Parents may come to class to observe the teaching once in a while and track their child’s progress but are asked not to interfere in the process of teaching. It is requested that your child not be ‘nudged’ to follow the teacher’s instruction as this can be a distraction for other students and can undermine the confidence of the child. Some classes are held in private residences to give the intimate feel of learning and we further request that the privacy of the host and his belongings be respected. Workshops and Concerts are held throughout the year and students and parents are encouraged to attend them to observe the level of playing and encourage the student.
Practice: Attending classes on a regular basis is important, but for continued improvement it is mandatory to practice regularly at home.
As institute of Percussion music, Dhwani Academy pledges to devote itself to the nurturing of a new generation of Percussionists, wedded to the cause of promoting ‘Rhythm’ as the root concept of music in its totality.
